What are the customizable options?
Domain Name
Choose the domain name you want for your site. We suggest using your school initials and the name of your newspaper. All of our newspaper sites have their own domain names, not subdomains of our site.
Design Template
Choose one of our newspaper templates as the basis for your site.
Categories
Typically these should be the major section names in your print edition. We recommend keeping these one or two words long. These categories will automatically appear in your navigation bar.
Subcategories
Every category can have multiple sub-categories. For example, your sports category can have football, volleyball, basketball, lacrosse, etc… as subcategories. Subcategories show up automatically in your drop-down navigation menu.
Determine sidebar content
Choose from the following features for your sidebar: reader survey, slideshow, events calendar, a list of recent comments, an advertisement, a featured video, and a featured podcast.
Colors
The colors can be changed on any element in a design that isn’t an image (navigation bars, link colors, hover colors, section headers, etc…) CLICK HERE to find colors that work well on Web sites. Let us know the hex numbers of the colors you’d like. We include basic color changes as part of your setup. Our instruction manual also includes details on how you can change these colors yourself.
